Tulsi is Expecting!

Puppies expected mid December 2024!

This breeding is a repeat of the litter we had in December 2023. It is a conservation cross to preserve some of the older lines for this wonderful breed, especially the Schoeman line. The pedigrees matched up great on paper and the puppies from the 2023 litter have turned out beautifully, so much so that I kept one for myself.

About Tulsi -

Tulsi is from Mitchell, Cimarron, Schoeman, Wilson, Chesney lines on her sire’s side, and Bowman, Machmiller, and Parmely lines on her dam’s. She is a lean 50lb, athletic and agile. She has the best natural attentiveness, biddability, and recall of any dog I've owned, which is saying something, since her parents both were excellent in that regard. She is loyal, very athletic, and an amazing hiking companion. She's loving and cuddly with people she knows, but a bit reserved with strangers. One of the aspects of her temperament that I most love, and one of the big reasons I kept her and wanted to breed her is that she is extremely resilient. Things can really go south and she will bounce back quite quickly.

She often goes to work with me and is very friendly with my co-workers, but will bark at delivery drivers etc. She generally gets along well with other, non-aggressive dogs and LOVES puppies. She has a low prey drive and nurturing temperament like her sire. I have chickens and she can hang out with the pen with them without any issue. She will briefly chase the bunnies in the yard but calls off instantly. She is a stick-close-to-home dog, and on several occasions when she’s been, unintentionally, left out of the house and yard, she is waiting patiently to be let back in hours later. Her siblings from various litters have gone with great success to farm/ranch, active family companion, and SAR homes.

Sire - Grif

(Briarwood English Shepherds)

Grif is Schoeman, Cimmaron, Beebe and Butcher. Grif weighs in at 65 pounds and has a farm manager temperament. He is active and very biddable. He's loving and good natured. He was born on an active farm in WI. He thinks it's his job to rid the yard anything that he deems doesn't belong... chipmunks, squirrels, and the like as well as keeping the cat in sight and in one place. The cat so far hasn’t cooperated in being still, but Grif is persistent in trying. When not in the backyard patrolling, he's very happy to be cuddled up at my side on the sofa. He travels well and is protective but not overly so.
